Lyne, R. N. (1942). The spelling of Kenya. Journal of the Royal African Society 41-162., pp. 46.

Notes : R. N. Lyne suggests that ‹Kenya› is either misspelt or mispronounced. He suggests the spelling ‹Kinya› instead. This generated a lively debate in the pages of the Society’s journal. For instance, Tate suggests that the spelling be kept, but the pronunciation should be changed to something like ‹Kennier›. Orde Browne agrees with Lyne. Ratcliffe doesn’t see any point in introducing any new spelling.
